Established in 1971, the Helena Modjeska Art and Culture Club in Los Angeles, is dedicated to promoting Polish heritage through sponsoring lectures, publications, cultural events and artistic performances. During the past five decades of its existence the Club has made a significant contribution to the enrichment of the ethnic mosaic of Southern California. The Modjeska Club is a 501(c)(3) California public benefit non-profit corporation recognized as tax-exempt by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, with a federal Tax Identification Number 20-3491956. The following reproduced outline of history from the "Album of the 50th Anniversary of the Helena Modrzejewska Cultural Club" was written by Dr. Maja Trochimczyk based on archival sources of the club, the Polish Museum in America (Chicago), the Association of Polish Clubs, and others.
